Polyp and Cancer Tissue Pathology and Acquisition
Data Collection
|
For the polyp patient pathology data web-form, we simplify the pathology result
by selecting the most advanced histology:
adenonocarcinoma,
villous, tubulovillous, high-grade dysphasia
tubular adenoma,
hyperplastic polyp,
or
unknown. With respect to the polyp size - these should be taken
from the procedure report and not the pathology report. This is because in general,
physicians biopsy only a fraction of a large polyp or a polyp may break into
fragment before it reaches the pathologist, etc.IUSCC places each polyp in a single vial for analysis, thus there is a one-to-one correspondence
between polyps and vials.
